Jira Software is a web application designed for bug and task manager that can be used for the operational project management. Primary Jira is used for software development, but it can also be used in other areas for requirements management and status tracking. Through its workflow management Jira is suitable for process management and improvement.
Jira Software essentially is for creating and editing tickets. A ticket can be prioritized, assigned to components, extended with attachments and comments. They can also be extended by further fields. They can be represented in different ways, e.g. configurable dashboards, filters and reports. Notifications are sent via RSS feeds and emails.
